Mini Sausage Rolls

Ingredients

? 1 apple 1 red onion
30g of sage leaves, stems removed
350g of good quality & seasoned sausage meat 1 sheet of puff pastry
1 egg, whisked
Sesame seeds

Steps

1. Preheat your oven to 200 degrees and line a baking tray with greaseproof paper.

2. Finely dice the apple & finely chop the sage and onion.

3. Place in a large mixing bowl with the sausage meat.

4. Mix the sausage, apple, red onion & sage together till well combined - best to just get your hands involved.

5. Lay the puff pastry flat & cut it in half lengthways.

6. Place half the sausage meat on each piece of pastry & use your hands to roll the mixture into a long sausage shape.

7. Roll both sides of the pastry over the top of the sausage meat & flip them over.

8. Cut each roll into 8 even sized squares for canapés or 4 for a good lunch portion size. Lay on the baking tray, leaving space between them to let them puff up.

9. Use a pastry brush to egg wash each roll & sprinkle with sesame seeds. Place in the oven for 20 minutes or till puffed up, golden brown & crispy on the bottom.
