Bright overhead lights can be too harsh so use a combination of dimmer switches, table lamps, wall lights and candles to create a homely glow. It’s a good idea to have all the lighting set in every room before viewers arrive.
External areas still count – your property exterior must retain kerb appeal in winter so make sure the path to your front door is safe and tidy, and add some potted shrubs or seasonal flowers for a burst of colour. Gardens should be free of fallen leaves and courtyards swept. Finally, turn on any outside lights, back and front, so potential buyers can see when it’s dark.
